Ranger at Gatovu patrol post, in the Mikeno Sector.
I was born on 11 November 1960 at Rumangabo. I have 6 children – 3 girls and 3 boys. My wife is called Francoise Uwimana.
I studied chemistry and biology at high school, and started working in Virunga in 1989 at Rumangabo HQ. My father was also a Ranger and it is thanks to him that I was able to join the ranks of the Rangers. He actually became very sick as he got older and so I took his place.
I started working as a Gorilla Guide, after taking several training courses. Now, like my father, I am preparing my sons so that they too can follow this noble profession, a profession of our ancestors. So I hope there will always be enough Rangers for Virunga.
